Loom for Gravity Forms puts a Record button in your forms: visitors record their screen, camera, or both, and the Loom link arrives with the entry. Version 1.1.0 is about the moments when recording cannot start — and about what happens after the video arrives.
What’s new in 1.1.0?
The same form can record for one person and refuse the next. Loom checks the page’s address against your app’s allowed domains, and it needs a browser it supports — desktop Chrome, Edge, or Brave, with third-party cookies allowed. When a check failed, the old version did nothing: a button that swallowed clicks. 1.1.0 says what is wrong, in the form, in plain words — which browsers work, which settings to check — and offers a second path: paste a Loom share link, and the submission goes through anyway.
The recorder itself moves to Loom’s current SDK (4.12.4) and its supported setup API. The bundled script is now a production build with no eval, so it runs on sites with a strict Content Security Policy.
After the video arrives, the entry detail screen now plays it — an embedded player where a bare link used to be. The entry list keeps its “View Loom Recording” link, and notifications carry the link as before.
Two smaller things worth having. Each Loom field now has a Record Button Text setting, so the button can say “Show us the bug” instead of “Record Loom Video.” And the field now accepts only genuine Loom share links — checked on the server, whatever a browser posts.
Two honest fixes. Recording buttons used to go dead after an AJAX validation round trip; they now survive re-renders, multi-page steps, and conditional logic. And on Gravity Forms 3, the theme framework had been quietly overriding the plugin’s styling — restored.
License management moves to the shared Odd Jar → Licenses screen — one place for every Odd Jar plugin. Existing activations carry over; there is nothing to re-enter.
